World Belly Dance Day Events 2008
We are still receiving the reports of the World Belly Dance Day Events and uploading them on the site. If you organized an event, please send your report to: EMAIL . Please include pictures and youTube links(remember to allow embedding on youTube!) We would alsoinclude a Profile Page for the dancer who organized the event.1) there are 3 questions to be answered:
- How did you hear about World Belly Dance and what inspired you to participate?
- What does Belly Dance mean for you?
- What message about Belly Dance would you like to send to those that have not started dancing yet?
2) There is a little section on the page where we ask the dancer to tell more about themselves- not just about the dancing, but also hobbies, interests, etc.
The whole idea about the Dancers page is to show that dancers are ALIVE PASSIONATE FEELING personalities, smart, compassionate, parents, spouses some have day-time job in addition to dance, and NOT some painted dolls, many people even see belly-dancers as indecent! We just wanted to show that EVERYONE can dance, because bellydance is more that just "shaking your body in provocative way". Through showing dancers closer than just "stars on stage"... Maybe let them tell also about their family, or hobbies, or dreams...So when people who do not dance yet wonder "Is it ok for me to bellydance if I have these moral values, or I am religious", they will see there are so many happy DECENT people out there dancing!
3) We ask to include some pictures, preferably one of them should be a portrait picture, others could be dance pictures.
4) We would also link to dancer's videos on youTube (Optional)
5) And finally, would include contact details (email, personal website)
