9th May 2009 – World belly Dance Day

Look at me now!

Society says I am too old to perform I am a menopausal Middle aged, middle spread And muddled minded But just look at me now...

I am dancing!
My soul is singing!
My heart is filled with Love and Joy!
Surrounding me are fellow dancers
Just look at us now!

The world is filled with flowers
Of different shapes and varying colors
With wonderful textures and subtle smells
Each and every one – PERFECTION!
So is the world filled with belly dancers!
Just look at us now!

I truly Thank you Senta
Not only do you teach...
Hip drops and lifts and Shimmies
But you heal my shattered self-esteem
You make me want to...
Dance and Love the body I am in!
Just Look at me now!

With Love and Gratitude to our magnificent teacher - Senta, my beautiful daughter - Carla, all my wonderful fellow Dance partners and the World - wide belly dancers dancing today - You ALL make me PROUD TO BE A WOMEN!

Just Look at us Now!

Thank you again for the beautiful Wings!

I have danced with wings that belong to our studio, but do not have my own. I am so inspired now to put together my own wing solo! The photos are taken at my home town in Umdloti KwazuluNatal South Africa by my 18 year old son Ryan. Looking forward to worldbellydance day too!!!

Meanwhile….Tons of hugs and Shimmies
