World Belly Dance Day 2008 Dubai - Athens

We went to Athens this year to dance on the World Belly Dance day and to have fun with the students from the class in Athens because our school is under renovation this summer, so this is what we did:

We all traveled together 3 days before time so we could have a little look around in Athens before the big day, Athens is a pretty place - we are used to the desert of Dubai so the weather and the green landscape is a treat for us.

The first we went day to see “plakka”, a tourist market that we made unsafe already in the morning hip dropping and posing for the camera.

In the evening we went to Maria Aya her studio where the girls attended class and got to know Maria and her gang.

The next morning we went all together including Ahmed Fekry (the teacher that Maria had invited to teach on the World Belly Dance day) and we visit the Acropolis that was really full of people from everywhere to have a peek and get a glimpse of this pretty side.

Of course again plenty pictures taken. We had lunch all of us and Maria also stayed.

In the evening off to Melina Mercoury Theater to see Maria her students and Maria herself and Ahmed off course putting up a nice show... wish I could take Ahmed home! LOL REALY NICE DANCER nice personality and loves what he is doing.

So that took us to Saturday morning... practice while having a full breakfast tummy because we want to make a surprise for Maria and her girls and a special choreo for Ahmed.

After that the girls are off again to Maria her studio to do a workshop with Ahmed - Melaya Leff what was lots of fun they said (Lydia had to stay home)!

By 6 Lydia also went to have a peek what was going on, and it looked so busy and everybody was dancing doing taking breaks eating drinking back to dancing LOL IT WAS LIKE A DANCING SOUK... so at 20.00 Ahmed called it a day... so Lydia’s turn... Let’s have a party now !!! Lydia performed and then together with the girls to make a splendid finish and get all the people up to make a party complete... so that is what we did... I don’t think Maria made any money for charity this year - it seems the theater was expensive, but we had a good time and for sure!

Next year 2009 we gonna make it a big bang - people are already booking and asking about it! So if you wanna join in - we gonna make a real nice party in Dubai, so if you want to come just drop me a mail...
