Oriental Soul for Kids II

And the Group “Oriental Soul” which consists from Greek dancers, or Greek rooted dancers that live out of Greece , is ready to perform in Melina Merkouri Theatre, in a packed place with 400 people for another time.
This time because of the World Belly Dance day, the money was going to be given to the School for disabled kids “Open Orizons”. We feel happy and anxious same time because children from the school are in the audience, as well as the Arab community of Greece , Ambassadors of Arab countries, the Bellydance community and friends and general public.
40 dancers from all over Greece , 3 dance schools, and 2 Greeks from abroad is here -Chryssanthi Sahar and Andreya of Cairo. “Nama” school from Thessaloniki , “Show Dance” from Athens , and “Oriental Expression” from Athens participated in our show.
The show was a big success. We also had a lottery so we collected more money for the school. In total 4.700 euro went for the School!!!!
Isis Wings, Tahteb, Melaya Leyf, Raqs Sharqi, Sha'aby, Sword dance, Saidi, Ghawazee, Dervish Tanura, just to name some of the choreographies.
A moment to remember for all of us was, at the final part of the night, where disabled children came on stage and we all danced together!! We all felt that dance can make things come true, and dreams to become reality.
“Oriental Soul” Show is a bi-annual show that takes place in Athens , organized by Maria Aya (Oriental Expression Dance-Theatre Artistic Studio).
It is a group of professional's and hobbyists from Greece , or with Greek roots, and the shows are strictly for Cultural or Charity reasons. No dancer is paid even one euro and the musicians that might work with us the same.
