So with all this lovely people donating their time we were able to raise a nice amount of money that we are donating to a school for children with special needs in a village near Cairo....All with all it was a lovely day where lots of nice people came together for a good cause... we danced ,laughed , dined, made new friends and made money for this cause... what a day! How can you miss out on that ? it was a true ‘world bellydance day’ the dancers came from Portugal, the US, Holland, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, India, Sudan, Tanzania, Lebanon and Brazil ... most of the dances are still studying in my classes with the exception of Naglaa and Layaly they are successful performers now....

We ended up with 26 people attending on the night and I think we even got all of them up on the dance floor at one stage or another!!! We had local ladies, some from Bunbury, a lady from Boyup Brook, about 70km away and a couple from Manjimup, over 80kms away!! (A huge thanks to the Turkish Kiss girls for their efforts, and to Vicki for letting them know it was on). We had a lovely mixture of dances, from solos, to troupes, cabaret to tribal and even a sword dance thrown in! But whatever costume and dance was on, they were all fantastic!!
We had ABC Radio come and do interviews with myself, the students and our guests, there was performances, workshops, and 5 free classes giveaways to all new students, including the interviewer!!
World Belly Dance Day 2010 Belgium: We have given 2500€ to a charity this year, this is 5x more then the very first time!

This is the second celebration of World Belly Dance day at Zahra’s School. This year, we have again added a fundraising aspect to our event. All proceeds were donated to the Humane Society of Durham Region towards their new shelter. Our event raised over $2000.
This year again, World Belly Dance Day was a huge success with dance workshop, silent auction, Mediterranean dinner and performance helped us raise a total of CAN$ 2'000.00 which was equally divided between Invermere Youth Action Committee and Plan Canada "Because I am a Girl". Thank you to all the dancers that join our cause and of course our community for attending the event. Happy World Belly Dance Day and see you in 2011.
The event was another great success for our four dancers who took part. Funds raised went to The Canadian Cancer Society for women's cancer research. We had girls performing for three hours while our amazing fans ate sushi, sipped drinks and bid on our silent auction items. We had 11 local businesses donate for our silent auction and during that three hours we raised $909 (from admission and the auction) for The Canadian Cancer Society.
The Daughters of Isis of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, celebrated World Belly Dance Day by presenting their 9th Annual Belly Dance Extravaganza - A day of Workshops presented by Ishra from Guelph; an all day Bazaar with 7 wonderful and diverse venders; a fabulous East Indian Dinner catered by the local restaurant - Raja; a pre-show concert by Light of the East Ensemble from London Ontario; and a spectacular evening performance featuring many talented dancers from the local area, Toronto, Hamilton, Goderich, London, Guelph and as far away as Germany!The event was a fund raiser for the United Way.
We raised over $1800 for the Crohns and Colitis foundation of Canada and had a great time doing it. Plans are already in the works for nest year's event!
On World Belly Dance Day 8th of May 2010 had our first performance on dance coctail ( tribute to dance) in our town.
We had a smashingly successful World Bellydance Day event here in South Korea (Rak 2010)! More than 60 artists and volunteers were involved in a show that spanned 5 hours. Together we raised about 1,000,000 won (US$900) for two charities: DasiHamkke Center (which helps victims of sex-trafficking) and BEAR NECESSITY KOREA (an animal welfare organisation specifically against bear bile farming).
This year, we raised fund for Women Center for change for single mother and Children Protection Society for abused children, we managed to raise RM34,424,82 [about 10,000usd] in total.
The dance night turned out to be quite successful. Every seat in the cafe was taken, there was more people than we expected, so we collected more money then we hoped for. The audience was lovely, the atmosphere was hot and everyone seemed to be having lots of fun. We enjoyed dancing for the kids and can't wait to go and visit them with the gifts.
I (as Kiki Bellydancer) was a speaker and entertainer at a Ladies Breakfast (fundraiser for a local drug and alcohol rehab clinic, SANCA) on the 8th; 120 women heard me explain our mission for the day, I then introduced them to a medley dance of tribal, cabare...t and khaleeji (complete with kaftan), then taught them all a few moves. Unfortunately, no images have been forwarded to me though, I promise to hire own photoperson next year!
I decided to hold my own little event to celebrate bellydance day. I knew it wasn’t going to be a big thing. I wanted to do something that makes people envolved in the dance, not just as audience, but I wanted them to try and taste the joy of moving together with the music. So I contacted a drummer friend, and asked him to come with me to the riverside on that day, and play drums for me while I dance a little bit, and offer free classes to anyone interested.
The purpose of this event is according to Lydia, to promote belly dance as an art form, to encourage people dedicated to charity, moreover, one special thing is we only invited female to our party, to proved the importance and exist of women, we set it a day as a female’s day, after years of hard working, mothers should be treated sweetly and always be respected as our culture shows that mother is an important role of everyone’s life. Therefore, we added mother’s day special project, a song for our mothers, we showed it as well in belly dance way. It was a very touching moment, there was a little story went on …about a dancer and her mother… and everyone cried because they see the love…
All in all it was a great day, we raised over £100 for 
We had performances by dancers from all around Western North Carolina! We had great attendance and we raised over $200 for the United Family Services Shelter for Battered Women in Charlotte!
The community came out and all the musicians and dancers supported each other as we raised money for the community's seniors.
